I design in Bitácora
From sketch to delivery: dictate, run, review and publish.
Getting started
- Create your account and take your first stepsYou sign in with your email or with Google, no password needed, and in four steps you set up your profile, your AI, your team, and your first sketch.
- Create your first projectGive it a name, choose whether to start blank, from a Bitácora file or from your client's brief, and pick the size of its screens.
- Explore the sample projectIf you don't have any projects yet, open the sample one, Luma Coffee: one screen and a note already dictated so you can see how Bitácora works when you run it.
- GlossaryBitácora's words in one line each, from note to Resources, to understand Help and the app.
Connect your AI
- Connect Claude to BitácoraAdd Bitácora as a connector in Claude, on the web, the desktop app or your phone, and your Claude can read your projects and apply your notes.
- Connect Claude Code to BitácoraOne command in your terminal and one authorization in the browser, and Claude Code applies your notes from your computer.
- Connect Cursor to BitácoraAdd Bitácora to Cursor's MCP servers with one click or through its mcp.json file, give permission in the browser, and Cursor will apply your notes.
- Connect ChatGPT to BitácoraAdd Bitácora as a custom MCP server in ChatGPT, on the web, and authorize in the Bitácora window so ChatGPT can work on your projects.
- Connect VS Code to BitácoraAdd Bitácora as an MCP server in VS Code and use it from the Copilot chat in agent mode to apply your notes.
- Connect Gemini CLI to BitácoraTwo commands in your terminal and one authorization in the browser, and Gemini CLI applies your notes from your computer.
- Connect Codex to BitácoraAdd Bitácora to Codex with one command, sign in with another and authorize in the browser so Codex applies your notes.
- Use your Claude API keySave your Anthropic key in Settings and Bitácora runs your notes on its own, without opening your chat. Choose which key each project works with and lend it to a shared one.
- Create and revoke access keysIn Settings › Connector you see every tool that gets into your space and revoke it whenever you want. For the ones that don't open the browser, create an access key.
- Project context, so you can switch AI without starting overEach project keeps what the AI learned about it (the visual system and the reasons behind it, the interactions, the data, the decisions). If you switch tools, the new one reads it when it connects and carries on the same way.
Notes
- Dictate a notePress R, say what you would change while you look at the screen, and click to mark where. The note stays pinned to that spot, ready to run.
- Write a note instead of dictating itPress E, write the change you're asking for and press Enter. It works just like a dictated one and goes into the same batch.
- Answer the AI's questionsWhen a note is unclear, "The AI has questions" appears. One dictation or one message answers them all, and the note goes into the batch.
- Your vocabulary: Bitácora learns how you name thingsBitácora keeps track of the words you use when you dictate ("the pill" is a filter chip) to understand you better across all your projects. You see, correct, and delete them in Settings.
Run and review
- Run your notes and review the changesClick Run, watch your screens change on the canvas, and go through each adjustment in Review, with its before and after, to approve it or revert it.
- Choose what runs your notesYour Claude through the connector, your API key, or your own AI working on the files. Here you choose, test without spending, and decide whether you approve each batch.
- Undo what a batch didFrom Review you take a screen, or every screen in a batch, back to how it was before the run. The notes go back to the strip so you can try them again.
The canvas
- Pointer modes on the canvasBrowse, Interact, Select, Text, and Adjust change what a click does on the canvas. You choose them on the left rail or with V, I, S, T, and P.
- Group screens and assign ownersPut the screens of the same flow into groups with a name and a color, let them group themselves, and assign who handles each group.
- Adjust an element of a screen by handWith Adjust mode you change the padding, colors, type, corners or an icon of any element, without dictating or spending AI, on one screen or on all its copies.
- Fix a text right on the screenWith Text mode you click any text on a screen, fix it and press Enter. No dictating and no AI used.
- Go back to an earlier version of a screenEach screen keeps its latest versions. From its history you compare them side by side and restore the one you want.
- Choose between several versions of a screenAsk in a note for two or three proposals for the same element, compare them one at a time or side by side and keep the one you like.
- Fix a screen's accessibility warningsBitácora checks contrast, touch size, small text and unnamed elements on every screen, and lets you fix them all with one note.
- Try a design in the full windowWith desktop or tablet screens, Try design opens the screen in the full window in a new tab, with its links, so you can try it like the finished product and dictate over it.
- Free photos and library icons for your screensSwap a screen's images for free-to-use photos or your own, and choose the project's icon libraries, without spending AI. The AI also uses them when it builds.
- Try the project on your phoneScan the QR code in "Try it on your phone" and browse your screens on your phone as if it were the finished app.
- Canvas keyboard shortcutsAll the keys and gestures for the canvas, for notes, and for To-dos and Flow, on a single page.
Deliver to your client
- Deliver a project to your clientFrom the Delivery button you choose who it goes to, how they get in and which screens travel, and you publish. Your client gets it in their portal and sends you their comments right there.
- Choose how your client gets into the deliveryA password for each person, one password for everyone or a public link. What each one shows, what you will know about who gets in and how to change it.
- Choose what your client sees in their portalTurn the delivery's sections, tools, and each screen on or off, see who has signed in, and open it exactly as your client will see it.
- See who viewed the delivery and remind themAfter publishing, the delivery summary tells you who is up to date, who hasn't seen the latest and who hasn't opened it, screen by screen.
- Publish the next updateWhen you change screens after delivering, publish a new update with everything or only with what changed. Your client sees what's new and what changed.
- Handle your client's commentsComments from the portal reach your canvas. Reply to them, close them, or turn them into notes so they go into your next batch.
- Download the delivery as a ZIPInstead of publishing to the portal, take the project with you as a ZIP. With Essential, the screen captures; from Professional on, the full HTML.
- Put your studio's brand on the portalYour logo, your color, your name, and your address on the portal your clients see, plus the help email and WhatsApp and the language.
