Guide
Create your account and take your first steps
You sign in with your email or with Google, no password needed, and in four steps you set up your profile, your AI, your team, and your first sketch.
Who can do this
- For
- Designers, Your team
- Role
- Any Bitácora account
- Plan
- All plans, including Free
- Where
- On a computer, On your phone (Bitácora Lite)
In Bitácora you don't need to sign up separately: signing in and creating your account are the same step. If your email doesn't have an account yet, one is created when you sign in.
- Open Bitácora.
- Click Sign in with Google, or type your email in Your email and click Send me the link.
- Open the link you receive on this same device, or type the Six digit code from the email into Bitácora. Once all six digits are in, you're signed in automatically.
The link and the code are valid for 15 minutes. Your session lasts 30 days in that browser.
First steps
The first time, First steps opens on its own: four short steps. You can skip any of them with I’ll do it later, or all of them with Skip; you can do everything later from Settings.
- Let’s start with you. Type your name (it's the only required field), choose your language and what you do. In Your microphone, click Allow the microphone and run a test: that way your first dictation already works.
- Connect your AI to Bitácora. Choose Claude, Claude Code, Another tool (ChatGPT, Cursor, VS Code, Gemini CLI, or Codex), or API key. The steps are in Connect Claude, Connect Claude Code, and in the Connect your AI topic.
- Build your team. Name a team and type the people's emails. Each one receives an invitation.
- Your first challenge. Dictate over a sketch what your screens should have and Bitácora creates the project My first challenge. It doesn't count toward your plan's project limit. To get back to it, in your photo's menu, My first challenge.
When you finish you land on Projects, your home. If you left the AI unconnected, the First steps button at the top (on a phone it says Start) takes you back to step 2.
Troubleshooting
- "That code has expired": ask for a new one with Resend code (wait 30 seconds between sends).
- "That code is not right": make sure it's the one from the latest email you received.
- The email doesn't arrive: check your spam folder or sign in with Google.
- The microphone doesn't respond: grant permission in the lock icon in the browser's address bar. You can also grant it the first time you dictate.
