Connect Claude Code to Bitácora
One command in your terminal and one authorization in the browser, and Claude Code applies your notes from your computer.
Who can do this
- For
- Designers, Your team
- Role
- “Can run with AI” and up
- Plan
- All plans, including Free
- Where
- On a computer
If you work with Claude Code in the terminal, connect it to Bitácora and it can read your projects and apply your notes just like Claude on the web.
Add the connector
Open your terminal and type:
claude mcp add --transport http --scope user bitacora https://app.bitacora.live/mcpWith
--scope userthe connector works in all your folders, not just the current one.- Open Claude Code, type
/mcp, choose bitacora and press Authenticate. The browser opens on Bitácora. - Choose How far it reaches and What it can do, and press Give permission.
Check that it works
Ask Claude Code: Tell me which projects I have in Bitácora. If you connect from First steps, Bitácora waits for the call and confirms Your AI now works with Bitácora.
Troubleshooting
claude: command not found: Claude Code isn't installed yet, or you need to open a new terminal after installing it.- In
/mcp, bitacora shows as not connected: choose it and press Authenticate again; the browser opens so you can give permission. - "That request expired": press Authenticate again and give permission without waiting too long.
- It only works in one folder: you added it without
--scope user. Add it again with the command above. - "Your role in this space does not allow running notes": in someone else's project, connecting requires the Can run with AI role.
Without a connector: through files
If you'd rather have Claude Code work on the project files on your machine, in the Run the notes sheet choose My AI, through files. Bitácora gives you the text to paste into Claude Code, and you wait with My AI is done. It's covered in Run and review.
