Connect Claude to Bitácora

Add Bitácora as a connector in Claude, on the web, the desktop app or your phone, and your Claude can read your projects and apply your notes.

Claude is chosen, the connector address is copied, permission is given and Bitácora is connected to Claude.

With the connector, your own Claude works inside Bitácora: it sees your projects, applies your notes to the screens, and you'll see the changes arrive on the canvas while it works. You pay for it with your Claude plan; Bitácora does not charge for the AI.

Before you start

You need your Bitácora account and a Claude account. The free Claude plan allows one custom connector.

Add the connector

  1. In Bitácora, copy the connector address: https://app.bitacora.live/mcp. You also have it in First steps, step 2, with the Copy button.
  2. In Claude, open Customize › Connectors. From First steps, the button next to it opens it with Bitácora and its address already filled in. You can also go straight to Claude's connectors.
  3. If they are not filled in, click Add custom connector, name it Bitácora, paste the address and click Add.
  4. Click Connect. A Bitácora window opens to give permission.
  5. In How far it reaches, choose The whole workspace (all projects) or a single project.
  6. In What it can do, leave Read and edit so it can apply your notes, or choose Read only so it only looks.
  7. Click Give permission. You return to Claude with Bitácora connected.

Check that it works

If you connect from First steps, Bitácora waits for the connection and turns green on its own. Then it asks you for a test: paste the phrase Tell me which projects I have in Bitácora. into Claude. When Claude answers with your list, you'll see Your AI now works with Bitácora.

From then on, when you have notes ready, ask Claude to run them. When you click Run in Bitácora without an API key, it gives you the exact phrase to copy into your chat. Run and review explains it.

Remove the permission

In Settings › Connector you see the tools that have permission. Click Revoke on Claude's and it can no longer get into your workspace.

Troubleshooting

  • "Your role in this space does not allow running notes": in someone else's project, connecting requires the Can run with AI role. Ask whoever runs the project for it.
  • "That request expired": click Connect in Claude again and give permission without waiting long.
  • Claude says it can't see Bitácora: check in its connectors that Bitácora is turned on in that conversation.
