Create and revoke access keys
In Settings › Connector you see every tool that gets into your space and revoke it whenever you want. For the ones that don't open the browser, create an access key.
Who can do this
- For
- Designers, Your team, Developers
- Role
- “Can run with AI” and up
- Plan
- All plans, including Free
- Where
- On a computer
Almost every tool connects by giving permission in a Bitácora window. For the ones that can't open the browser, like an agent that runs on a server, there's the access key: with it, the tool works in your space as you.
See who has permission
Open Settings › Connector. The list has one row for each tool you connected and for each key you created:
- The name, with the Read only badge if you gave it that permission.
- The whole workspace (all projects), or the name of a project followed by only.
- When it was last used, or Not used yet.
Create a key
- In Settings › Connector › Create a new key, give it a name that says where you use it. For example: "Claude on my laptop".
- In How far it reaches, choose The whole workspace (all projects) or a single project.
- Click Create key.
- Click Copy the key and save it in the tool. It's only shown this once.
Create one key per tool: that way, if you stop using one, you revoke it without touching the others. The keys you create here don't expire.
Use it in a tool
The tool has to send it in the header of every request to the connector, https://app.bitacora.live/mcp:
Authorization: Bearer bit_…The Bitácora connector page has an example for the Copilot agent on github.com. A key tied to a project only sees that project.
Revoke
Click Revoke in the row and confirm. The tool can't get in anymore, right away. If it was a tool you connected with the permission window, connect it again from there to use it again.
Troubleshooting
- "The connector is not authorized": the key was copied wrong, you revoked it, or your role in that space doesn't allow running notes.
- "That access key no longer works": it was revoked. Create another one.
- The tool doesn't see a project: the key is for another project only. Create one for The whole workspace (all projects).
