A project is a canvas with all the screens of an interface, its sketches, its flow, its design system and its deliveries to the client.
Create the project
- In Projects, click New project, or press N. If you do not have any yet, the button says Create my first project.
- Type the Name.
- In Who works on it, leave Just me or choose one of your teams. You can also Invite someone with their email; the invitation goes out when the project is created.
- In Starting point, choose Blank, Open a Bitácora file (a
.bitacora) or From a brief (PDF, text, images and other documents from your client: they stay in the project's Resources and the AI suggests the first screens from them, see Start from the brief). - In Main screen size, choose the device type and the size, or Custom. It is only the starting point: later you can ask for screens of any size.
- Click Create project (or Open project if you are opening a file).
If you open a file or upload the brief, you see the progress at the bottom left: Uploading the file (or Uploading the brief: file 2 of 5) with the percentage, and then Opening the project….
The empty canvas opens, with three ways to start: Start with a sketch, Dictate the first note or Write it.
How many projects fit in your plan
| Plan | Active projects |
|---|---|
| Free | 1, and you can swap it for another one every 30 days |
| Essential | 3 |
| Professional, Studio and Agency | No limit |
Archived projects do not count, and neither does My first challenge. The sample project does count. When your plan is full, instead of the new project window you see You reached your plan’s project limit, with what you can do.
Troubleshooting
- "Type a name for the project": the name is the only required field.
- "The project is created, but it could not be shared": the project exists; invite people from the team button on the canvas, as explained in Invite your team.
