The pointer mode decides what a click does on the canvas: move around, use the prototype, pick screens, or change something on a screen. The modes are on the vertical rail to the left of the canvas; hover over each one to see a small animation of what it does.
The five modes
| Mode | Key | What a click does |
|---|---|---|
| Browse | V | You move the canvas by dragging the background; clicking a screen zooms in and centers it |
| Interact | I | You use the prototype inside the screen: tap buttons, type, scroll. Only in this mode do links take you to another screen |
| Select | S | You pick screens and groups to move, align, or group them |
| Text | T | You fix a text on the screen right there, without going through the AI |
| Adjust | P | You touch up an element (padding, colors, typography…), without going through the AI |
Select several screens
In Select, each click adds or removes a screen, and dragging from the background draws a box that picks the ones it touches. Ctrl+A picks them all. With two or more picked, the bar appears at the top to align them, distribute the space, and Group.
In any mode, Shift + drag also draws the box.
Undo and redo
Below the modes are Undo (Ctrl+Z) and Redo (Ctrl+Y). They undo what you change on the canvas: moving, grouping, aligning. What you fix with Text and Adjust is undone another way: see Edit texts and Go back to an earlier version.
Esc releases whatever you have picked and takes you back to Browse.
Who can use them
Browse, Interact, and Select are available to every role. With View only, what you move stays in your view and doesn't change for others. Text and Adjust change the screens, so they require the Can run with AI role: without it, they don't appear on the rail.
In Settings › Canvas › Mode when opening a project you choose which one each project starts with.
