Write a note instead of dictating it

Press E, write the change you're asking for and press Enter. It works just like a dictated one and goes into the same batch.

If you're in an office where you can't talk, or you prefer the keyboard, write the note: it's handled just like a dictated one.

Write

  1. Go to the screen you want to change.
  2. Press E, or the keyboard button in the notes strip.
  3. Write what you would change.
  4. Press Enter to save it. Shift+Enter adds a line.

Esc closes the box, and what you had written stays there for next time.

With the Flow tab in front, the note gets the Flow label and is about the map: see Dictate a note.

In the Sketches view

On a board, the box says For the sketch and the board's name, and the note goes with its drawing. There the E key is the eraser, so open the box with the keyboard button.

Troubleshooting

  • "A recording is running": first finish the dictation with R.
  • "Your role in this project does not allow this.": writing notes requires the Can review and comment role. With View only, the keyboard button doesn't appear.
